This is the donkey that Jesus rode into Jerusalem which never a man had sat. After the mob crucified the kindest man the donkey had ever known he went into the wilderness to contemplate.
Seba is one of the most significant Egyptian symbols. It is the symbol for star, which connotes discipline or learning. The symbol is also associated with doorways and gates. Seba stays calm in the midst of chaos being in her center with knowledge of who she is.

I had just returned from a trip I took to Washington. I stayed on the island of Friday Harbor. So Orcas were on my mind. I wanted a happy Orca. I don't really know what made me think to add the butterflies. Maybe because the Orca needed something to celebrate. But here, the creatures of the sky meet a creature of the deep.

In the Apocrypha there is a story about a man named Esdras. The Almighty was telling Esdras to do something really hard. He would have to drink from a fiery cup. (I made it a wineglass, just because.) I felt a kindredness with this story as I feel I have drank my share of fiery cups.

The American Mustang is in trouble, guys. They are being rounded up by the Bureau of Land Management. I named this painting "Fade Into" for two reasons, one is referring to the spots on the horse and how they mimic the clouds. The second is because it would be regrettable to let such incredible creatures fade into nothing.
I am involved with the animal rights group "Mercy for Animals." I donated this to a fundraiser they had and Diane Warren bought it.

I cant really say exactly how this painting came about. I think I was thinking about perspective. I wanted the clouds to recede and then the trees. I just thought it would be funny if a little pony was was scared " hiding" behind a tree. Then a strange thing happened, we adopted a mustang and he did just this.

A very dear friend of mine was having trouble with the law. This is how I pictured he would feel. The globes falling all around are the rules and regulations that make us feel trapped at times.

I was thinking about the stripes on zebras and how unexplainable they were. Then i just thought it would be cool if there was a checkerboard for ground. I guess I was just thinking about patterns. I had to throw in the clouds just to keep it honest.

This painting is a study in stripes you might say. I always wondered why zebras have stripes. Maybe it helps to camouflage them. At any rate, i thought it was interesting and i had fun with this one.
